Al-Riyadh: The King Abdulaziz Complex for Kaaba Covering Affairs Agency has replaced the embroidered patches of the Kaaba cover around the Black Stone and Rukan Yamani in the Kaaba.
In the corner of the Kaaba, the “Rukn Yamani”, the embroidered pieces were replaced with golden reed threads. The conversion process was carried out by 6 of the complex’s highly skilled tailors. This work was completed within 20 days. At the rate of 10 days, the two corners of the Kaaba’s cover were replaced with special scrolls. These new jewelery pieces are designed keeping in mind the growing number of people. While saluting the pilgrims on Hajar Aswad and Rukan Yamani, the minimum disturbance was also considered.
Amjad Al-Hazmi, Undersecretary General Engineer of the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Kaaba and Masjid-e-Nabawi, said that the embroidery of the edges of the Black Stone and the corners of the Rukan Yamani have been done according to the highest standards and are modern in embroidery. Automated methods are used with the most advanced techniques.
Al-Hazmi further stated that golden reed threads are used in the process of embroidering the edges. These are embroidered on a piece of black satin cloth according to the design entered in the Tajima machine.
