LAHORE: President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Army Chief Asim Munir is treating him like an enemy. Speaking to reporters here, Imran Khan said, “The authorities do not understand what politics is.” He has no fight with power and he is ready to talk to power for the betterment of the country, but if anyone thinks that I will kneel before him, then it cannot happen. If someone isn’t interested in talking, I can’t help it.”
On the corruption cases against him, he said, “The corruption cases against my wife and me cannot be proved. If the Army Chief has that much doubt about his integrity, he should personally inquire into it and find that in fact I am innocent of any corruption.
The former prime minister also said that it is very important to strengthen the army of the country. He accused General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa of stabbing him in the back and said that the former army chief should be court-martialled. In the context of the upcoming general elections, he said, “We will win the elections despite Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) umpires.” He claimed that expatriate Pakistanis stand by his party and will continue to support it.
