Cyber Cell Superintendent of Police Triveni Singh said that when a user downloads such (quick support) app, he gives all the options to the app. These options include access to all other apps, gallery and contact lists in the app. This permission gives the attackers remote access to the phone. When an electronic device is remotely accessed, the person who has remote access can clearly see all the activities.
He said while the victim is busy entering his name, number and paying Rs 10 as service charge, the thugs can see the PIN number, which is later used to withdraw the money.
