New Delhi: Death toll continues to rise after earthquake devastation in Turkey and Syria. The death toll from the earthquake in Turkey and Syria is continuously increasing. Due to this earthquake, more than 29 thousand people have lost their lives so far and the operation to search for lives from the debris is still going on.
Meanwhile, India continues to provide assistance to both countries. According to the report, the seventh plane with relief goods left for Turkey and Syria from Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The flight carries essential items like life-saving medicines, field hospital, blankets and sleeping mats for the earthquake victims. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar himself announced the departure of the seventh flight.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the seventh Indian Air Force aircraft took off on Saturday evening under ‘Operation Dost’ with relief, medical supplies and consumables for earthquake-hit Turkey and Syria. Jaishankar posted pictures of the aircraft carrying the cargo and said, “Seventh operational friendly aircraft left for Syria and Turkey.” The flight is carrying emergency supplies, medical aid, emergency and critical care medicines, medical equipment and consumables.”
On Saturday evening, another IAFC-17 aircraft airdropped relief supplies and equipment to Syria and Turkey as part of the ongoing humanitarian relief effort. Sources said the flight was heading to Damascus and would fly to Adana after unloading relief supplies there.
It should be noted that the first shock of the earthquake in Turkey occurred at 4.17 am on February 6. Its magnitude was 7.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was Gaziantep in southern Turkey. Before people could recover from it, another earthquake struck shortly after, measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale. This period of earthquake shocks did not stop here. Another aftershock of magnitude 6.5 was felt.
The tremors wreaked havoc in 11 provinces including Malatya, Sanliurfa, Osmania and Diyarbakir. Another tremor was felt at 4 pm. It is being told that this shock caused the most destruction. Exactly one and a half hours later, at 5.30 pm, the fifth shock of the earthquake was felt. The neighboring country of Syria has also caused a lot of destruction and deaths due to the earthquake.
