Islamabad: At least 17 people were killed in a collision between a tanker truck and a passenger bus on a highway in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. After the accident, a fire broke out at the spot and engulfed the vehicles.
According to the report, the bus had to be cut to remove the trapped bodies and injured during the rescue services. According to the media, the rescue personnel are taking the injured to Civil Hospital Shani Kali Dara Adam Khel. According to a report, 12 passengers died on the spot in the accident, 6 injured were shifted to the hospital, out of which 5 died during treatment, thus the death toll has increased to 17.
On receiving information about the accident, the rescue teams reached the spot and started rescue operations. Among the dead, women and children are also included. The bodies of the dead and injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital. According to the rescue teams, both the vehicles were destroyed as a result of the accident. The accident occurred due to brake failure of the trawler, which collided with the passenger coach coming from the opposite direction. The passenger vehicle was going from Lucky Marwat to Peshawar.
