There are reports of a cargo ship sinking in the sea between South Korea and Japan. According to media reports, the accident took place on Wednesday in which 8 members of the driving crew have died. 6 of them are reported to be from China. According to Japanese media reports, the accident took place in the East China Sea off the Nagasaki region of Japan.

Earlier, it was reported that there were 22 people on board the cargo ship, out of which 14 people were evacuated and 2 of them died. Now a total of 8 deaths have been reported. According to reports, the 6551 ton cargo ship ‘Jin Tian’ was registered in Hong Kong. There were 22 people on board, 14 of whom were from China while 8 others were said to be from Myanmar. The ship was carrying timber from Malaysia to Incheon, South Korea.

According to the Kyodo News Agency, the ship reported an emergency situation in the East China Sea about 110 kilometers west of Japan’s Danjo Islands at around 11:15 p.m. However, there was a gale alert when the ship called for help. Crew members of the plane were reportedly rescued by the South Korean coast guard and two air security forces from Japan. Two people rescued by ASDF were pronounced dead after being flown to hospital by Nagasaki Airport.
