Islamabad Police has confirmed the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry. PTI has expressed fear that Shahbaz Sharif government may arrest Imran Khan soon

ISLAMABAD: Leader of Pakistan’s former prime minister’s party PTI and former minister of Pakistan and senior leader of PTI Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested. On the other hand, these speculations have gained strength that Imran Khan may also be arrested soon. After the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry, a large number of his supporters have gathered outside Imran Khan’s residence.
According to the report, Islamabad Police arrested the central leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Fawad Chaudhry from Lahore on Wednesday morning. A case was registered against Fawad Chaudhry in Islamabad’s Kohsar police station on Tuesday on the complaint of the Election Commission’s secretary. While acting on the said case, Islamabad Police detained Fawad Chaudhry from his residence in Lahore.
Former Pakistan Minister Fawad Chaudhry had earlier claimed that Shahbaz Sharif’s government was planning to arrest former Prime Minister Imran Khan. A recent statement of Fawad Chaudhry has been made the reason in the case filed by the Secretary of the Election Commission. Fawad Chaudhry while talking to the media a few days ago said that he warns the Election Commission that if the series of abuses continues, they will have to pay the price.
It is written in the text of the case that Fawad Chaudhry had said that “the status of the Election Commission has become like that of a minister and those who are in the caretaker government will be chased until they are punished.” The case filed against Fawad Chaudhry also includes section 124A of treason, which carries a life sentence.
In view of Imran Khan’s arrest, PTI supporters gather outside his residence. Rumors of the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan were spread early on Wednesday. A large number of party leaders and workers reached his residence in Lahore’s Zaman Park. PTI leaders allege that there is no such thing as law left in Pakistan.
