Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, has said that the world is not ready to deal with a new global epidemic. Speaking at the Lowy Institute event in Sydney, Australia, Bill Gates said that to fight the global epidemic in the future, Strong political cooperation will require even adversaries to work with each other.
He said he could not say that any country’s response to Covid-19 was perfect.
He further said that dealing with global epidemics in the future will require a solid global relationship based on common political commitment, but there is no global preparedness in this regard yet.
Bill Gates said that ‘when we are threatened by a pandemic, we have to respond in a way that prevents that disease from spreading globally’.
He said that ‘every 5 years we need to test preparedness to deal with epidemics at the level of countries and regions and a global group should also be established to monitor the efforts of each country’.
He hoped that diversification in technology would make it possible to tackle many medical and other problems.
He said that we will be able to cure obesity, we will be able to cure cancer, we will be able to eradicate polio.
According to Bill Gates, ‘I believe it will be better to be born now than 20, 40 or 60 years ago’.
