‘They weren’t chess pieces’ in Prince Harry’s killing of 25 in Afghanistan

Kabul (Daily Pakistan Online) Prince Harry has revealed in his memoirs that he killed 25 people during his military service in Afghanistan. In his autobiography, ‘Spear’, to be released next week, the Duke of Sussex described the killing as removing ‘chess pieces’ from the board during a fight, according to British media reports.

The revelation drew a strong response from Taliban leader Anas Haqqani, who condemned Prince Harry, saying the people he killed were not ‘chess pieces’ but human beings. Sharing the picture of the cover of the memoir, the Taliban leader wrote in a series of tweets, ‘Mr. Harry! Those you killed were not chess pieces, they were human beings. They had families who were waiting for their return.

“Many of the killers of Afghans do not have the decency to show their conscience and confess their war crimes, the truth is what you have said,” he added. Our innocent people were chess pieces for your soldiers, military and political leaders. Yet, you lost in this ‘game’ of white and black ‘squares’.

Anas Haqqani added that on this confession, he hopes that Prince Harry will not be summoned to the International Court of Justice, but these atrocities will definitely be remembered in history.
