If the Republicans do not get the support of Trump as a third-party presidential candidate…

Washington (Daily Pakistan Online) Former US President Donald Trump has indicated that if he does not get the support of the Republicans in the next presidential election, he may run as a third-party candidate.

Trump posted an article titled ‘The Coming Split’ on his Truth Social account, arguing that if Republicans don’t choose Trump as their 2024 nominee, they should consider him as a third-party candidate. Elections should be contested. The article comes after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, with support from many Republicans, came out on top. However, Trump still has the support of conservative Republicans even though the candidates he supported were defeated in the US mid-term elections.

“Do I think Trump can win as a third-party candidate?” wrote Dan Gelernter, author of the article. No. Would I vote for him as a third-party candidate? Yes.’

Trump has sought to use the midterm elections as an opportunity to prove his enduring political influence after losing the White House in 2020. He endorsed more than 330 candidates, many of whom lost, and Trump publicly criticized his Republican running mate after Ron DeSant’s landslide victory.
