Within the next 2 years, every smartphone will use a single charger and cable.
According to media reports, the European Union has directed to ensure the use of USB ports in all smartphones, tablets and other devices by December 28, 2024.
The European Union approved a law in October 2022 that mandated the presence of a single charging port for all mobile phones, tablets and cameras in Europe.
Now the European Union has announced that companies have been given until December 28, 2024 to adopt the change.
The law was published in the Official Journal of the European Union after which it will enter into force in 20 days, and European countries will then have a maximum of 24 months to enact it into law at national level.
