Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced that all accounts that previously received Blue Tick for free will have their Blue Tick removed over the next few months.
Accounts on Twitter are given a blue tick mark, which the platform verifies.
For Blue Tick, one had to apply to Twitter first and Twitter would ask for certain things for verification, after which the accounts would be verified and given Blue Tick without looking at the number of followers.
However, now Elon Musk has changed this method and introduced the service of giving Blue Tick for money, which is rapidly being started in different countries of the world.
Under the aforementioned service called Twitter Blue, BlueTick will be provided to ordinary users for a fee of $8 per month, while users using Twitter on Apple devices will have to pay $11 per month.
Along with the same feature, businesses on Twitter will now be given a ‘golden tick’ while the accounts of multinational companies and governments will be given a ‘grey tick’.
However, the old ‘Blue Tick’ will be given to ordinary users and personalities and in this regard, changing the ‘Tick’ of business institutions and government accounts in different countries of the world, including Pakistan, has been started.
However, the most important thing is that Elon Musk has already announced that Blue Tick for verified accounts will be removed in a few months.
Elon Musk responded to a user’s tweet and confirmed that over the next few months, the blue tick will be removed from all accounts that have previously been blue ticked.
He also termed the way of providing blue ticks to accounts in the past as a wrong and foolish decision.
Although Elon Musk announced the removal of blue ticks for pre-verified accounts, he did not clarify what the process would be to provide blue ticks to these accounts again.
