London (Daily Pakistan Online) Journalist David Rose, who reported against Shehbaz Sharif in “Daily Mail”, says that only one of the charges against Shehbaz Sharif has been pardoned, the case is over because the claims have been settled. However, the rest of the charges are still in place.
THREAD. There seems to be some confusion in the Pakistani media about the end reached yesterday to the defamation cases brought by @CMShehbaz and Ali Imran Yousaf against his Mail on Sunday.

In a statement on Twitter, David Rose said that there seems to be some confusion in the Pakistani media about the end of the defamation cases filed by Shehbaz Sharif and Ali Imran against the “Daily Mail”. The apology issued by the Daily Mail covers only one point and that is that the NAB did not charge Mr Sharif with stealing large sums of DFID aid when he was the Chief Minister of Punjab. According to David Rose, the paper did not apologize for other allegations in the related article, such as money laundering.
Messrs. Sharif and Yousaf have not issued replies to our defenses that comply with the requirements of English law. Those defenses therefore stand, and are public documents.

Shahbaz Sharif and Ali Imran have not filed a reply to the English law defense raised by us, so our defense is not only established but also publicly available.
According to David Rose, the newspaper has not paid damages or costs to Shehbaz Sharif or Imran Yousaf, nor has it waived the fines imposed on them by Justice Nicklan last month. Both have settled their claims so the case is over. The newspaper has removed the article from the Internet. I will not comment on the conclusion of these proceedings.
