Karachi: President Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi Mufti Rafi Usmani passed away in Karachi after prolonged illness, he was 86 years old. According to the report, Mufti Maulana Rafi Usmani’s funeral prayer will be offered at Darul Uloom Korangi tomorrow, Sunday, November 20, at 9 am. Late Rafi Usmani was the President of Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi and Patron-in-Chief of Darul Madras Al Arabiya. He was born on July 21, 1936 in Deoband, a famous town in pre-partition India.

Mufti Muhammad Rafi Osmani was the Vice President of Faq al Madaris Al Arabiya Pakistan, syndicate member of Karachi University and Dow University, member of Islamic Ideological Council, Ruyat Hilal Committee and Zakat and Ushar Committee Sindh and also advisor to Supreme Court of Pakistan Appellate Bench.

Rafi Usmani was the eldest son of Grand Mufti of Pakistan Mufti Muhammad Shafi Usmani. He got his early education from his father Mufti Azam Deoband Muhammad Shafi Deobandi. He was one of the leading scholars of Pakistan, he wrote dozens of books.

Grand Mufti of Pakistan Mohammad Rafi Usmani started his early education and memorization of Quran from Darul Uloom Deoband and he was 12 years old when he migrated to Pakistan with his family in 1947. Mufti Rafi Usmani completed his memorization of the Qur’an at the Bab al-Salam Aram Bagh Mosque in Karachi in 1948, and in 1951, he enrolled in the religious teaching school Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi, Nanakwada, founded by his father, and was one of the first students of Darul Uloom. It used to be.

In 1960, Mufti Rafi Usmani completed the education of Alam Fazil, Mufti, obtained the degree of Fazil Arabic from Punjab University and started teaching from Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi and in 1971 took over the responsibilities of Dar al-Afata and Dar al-Hadith.

He took over the management of Darul Uloom Karachi after the death of Mufti Shafi Usmani in 1976 and due to his efforts, Darul Uloom Karachi is considered one of the major educational institutions of Pakistan today. Mufti Rafi Usmani was given the post of Grand Mufti of Pakistan by the Ulema for his academic services after the death of Mufti Azam Wali Hasan Tonki in 1995 and guided him on important occasions.

The Grand Mufti of Pakistan, Mufti Rafi Usmani, has written more than 2 dozen research papers and books, including Discord of Mercy, Sectarianism is Haram, The Place of Ijmaa in Fiqh, Historical Background of Europe’s Feudalism, Capitalism and Communal System and the Deoband Sect. No other books including following the Sunnah are included.
