Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Maryam Aurangzeb, said in a tweet that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was unwell for the past two days and after returning from London, he underwent his corona test on the advice of doctors, which came positive.

This is the third time that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has fallen victim to the corona virus. Earlier, he was found corona positive in June 2020 and again in January this year. Maryam Nawaz has also appealed to the public and party workers to pray for the prime minister’s speedy recovery.

President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has prayed for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s speedy recovery after his corona test came positive. According to a statement issued by the Press Wing of the President’s House on Tuesday, the President of the State has expressed his best wishes for the Prime Minister’s health.

Did he get infected with Corona during his foreign visit?

Shahbaz Sharif traveled to Sharm el-Sheikh, a tourist destination in Egypt, earlier this month. Where he attended the annual United Nations Environment Summit COP 27. After that, he went to London to meet his elder brother and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on a private visit.

Nawaz Sharif was disqualified from the post of Prime Minister by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2017. The court sentenced him to 10 years in prison after finding him guilty of concealing assets abroad.

However, in 2019, a Pakistani court released him on bail and allowed him to go abroad for medical treatment. Nawaz Sharif has been living in exile ever since. In the same case, the court sentenced his daughter Maryam Nawaz to seven years on charges of buying luxury apartments in London. Political tension in Pakistan, is history repeating itself?

Maryam Nawaz, who is also the vice-president of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League, was acquitted of all charges by an appeals court in September this year. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif complained of fever during his stay in London and extended his stay there for a few days, he returned to Pakistan on Monday.

Imran Khan’s statement

Imran Khan, who entered the world of politics from cricket, had to resign after facing failure during a no-confidence motion in Parliament in April, after which Shahbaz Sharif took over as the Prime Minister.

Imran Khan was injured earlier this month when he was shot by a gunman during his protest Islamabad Long March. Addressing the participants of the Long March through video link on Tuesday, he criticized the policies and performance of the government.

Imran Khan had allegedly blamed the conspiracy hatched by Sharif Bardran and America as the reason for his dismissal from the Prime Ministership. However, both of them rejected these allegations.

However, Imran Khan appeared to backtrack from his statement yesterday. In an interview given to the British daily Financial Times, when he was asked about the ‘conspiracy theory’, he said that he has now abandoned it. “We have had a master-slave relationship with America. We were used as hired guns. But for all these things I blame the governments of my country more than the United States.”
