Twitter has laid off thousands more employees. According to CNBC’s report, 4,400 to 5,500 contract employees of Twitter have been laid off.
These employees were not even notified before they were fired, but learned about it when access to Twitter’s work systems was terminated.
According to the report, the company sent an email to these employees and told them that the reason for their dismissal was to cut costs.
Keep in mind that at the end of October, Elon Musk bought Twitter for 44 billion dollars.
Since then, Elon Musk has made several moves and 50 percent of employees were laid off without notice.
Elon Musk told Twitter employees last week to prepare for tough times ahead.
He said that if the income does not increase, the company may be insolvent.
Along with Twitter, Meta also laid off 11,000 employees, which the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg called the most difficult decision.
